I am so delighted and honoured to share with you Clair & Mikes’ Real Wedding!
Where & When did the wedding take place?
We got married at St James church Sutton-On-Hull on the 26th March 2011. It’s a beautiful church in a small village and has many family ties. Its were my brother got married, my parents renewed their wedding vows and where my son was christened.

We then had our wedding breakfast and evening reception at The Royal Station Hotel, Hull. We was very happy with this venue and the food which was served for the wedding breakfast and buffet in the evening was delicious!
At the evening we had a sweet cart with all traditional sweets on which guest could come up and they was 2 members of staff serving it, it came to match your colour scheme with unlimited
sweets all set up and severing for 3-4 hours!
We also had a casino table were everyone got free money on their chairs when they walked in to exchange at the table for chips and the person with the most chips at the end of the night won a bottle of bubbly!! Again this was attended to by 2 members of staff throughout the night and we hired this from Casino Knights.
We had 2 wedding cars from Marshalls, that took us to the church and then on to our reception which I can not recommend highly enough. The cars are amazing and the service you receive is out of this world!
Clair's lovely Bridesmaids in Black & White Dresses
Our Photographer started at 9.30am from my parents home and stayed until 6pm that evening, The pictures are truly amazing and capture our day perfectly. He put all the family at ease and got everyone laughing as the photo time can take a long time and be very boring for guests. The photographer was Stephen Armishaw.
My flowers were by Floral Lounge
and again they blew me away! Sarah who owns the business is extremely talented and made my flowers better than i could ever of imagined them to be. They were delivered to 3 different addresses in the morning.
My cake was by Cakes by Brenda which again was just perfect.
My dress was from Deborah Moore in Hessle and was stunning. They was brilliant girls there and made my dress fit and feel amazing! My veil, rugby cuff links, and under skirt was all from veils UK on line.

My hair was done by Gorgeous, who was lovely and came to my mums home at 8.30am to start on my bridesmaids and my hair.
My makeup was done by blaze and again was amazing and lasted all day.
I had 2 hen nights, One in London and one in Hull.
For the London hen nite my Chief bridesmaid Rachel and my mum organised it all. We hired a coach to take us all down, they was 16 of us on the London Hen nite. My mum
got us all tops made as you can see on the pics i have attached. We travelled down on the Saturday morning, arrived just after dinner at our hotel. We then went out for a few drinks before heading back to the hotel to get changed as the main reason for going to London was to go see Dirty Dancing in the West end! It was amazing!
My Hull hen nite was for everyone else that couldn’t make my London hen nite. My chief bridesmaid and my mum also sorted all this out.
We hired a 52 seater coach to pick everyone up to take us to the venue just outside of Hull called The Gardener’s Arms were we hired out the wedding reception room. In that we hired a bucking bronco, DJ and had a hot buffet, decorated all the tables and had lots of girlie games to play. It was one of the best nights ever and will remember it for ever. The amount of effort that my friend and mum put into both the hen nights was unbelievable and made it the best time i could dream of and for that i am truly grateful.
We honeymooned in the Maldives, Meeru Iland and it truly was out of this world!
What was great about your venue?
The Venue was lovely because it was decorated beautifully, with a traditional interior, a foyer for guests to gather before the meal and in between if guest didn’t wish to go home in between. They have ample rooms for many of our guests that wish to stay over and a central location for easy access to and from this venue.
What was your best part of the day?
The best part of the day for me was the church. When i first walked into the church and heard the bridal march with my dad my eyes filled up. Walking towards my future husband with all our family and friends there was most certainly the best part of my day.
What advice would you give to brides to be?
Everyone wants different things from their day and you should always remember that it is YOUR day, you and your future husbands and no one elses so you should have and do exactly what makes you both happy. I had many girlie nights with my friends were they all came round to my house and helped me make menu’s, table cards, confetti cones ect and we had such a great nights!
Who made your dress/Where did you buy it from?
Maggie Sottero made my dress and i bought it from Deborah Moore, Hessle.
I had my bridesmaids dresses made by Lynn in Preston Nr Hull, she made my 2 bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dress.
Also we hired all the mens suits from Southwells Mens wear.
What details did you choose for a personal touch?
I am a huge Hull FC fan and there colours are Black & white so
we went with that theme and there kits are black and white irregular hoops so we went with mainly white with a think black strip then a thinner one on everything from invites to menu’s, order of service, everything was black and white.

What made you choose Bespoken For?
I had been searching for a tiara online as I couldn’t find THE ONE in any shops and found a picture of a head piece I really really liked and so I searched for a company who
would make me something similar and I found Bespoken For!
Once I spoke to Jenni I was certain she was the perfect person to make my hair piece and it was so perfect and better than anything i have ever seen! I still get it out just to look at! The service I received was second to none and couldn’t recommend Jenni highly enough.
